Providence Park MAX Improvements
May 6–May 11, MAX service near Providence Park will be disrupted as we make track improvements. Some MAX lines will run less frequently, so allow extra time for your commute.
From the start of service on Sunday, May 6, through the end of service on Friday, May 11, our crews will be improving MAX tracks around Providence Park. We’re doing this to make your ride smoother and more reliable.
During these six days, MAX Blue and Red lines will be disrupted. Trains on the west side will run less frequently, as will MAX Blue Line east of Downtown and Orange Lines during commuting hours.
For riders traveling to Beaverton or Hillsboro through Portland City Center, Blue and Red line trains will run from Gresham or Portland International Airport to Galleria/SW 10th Ave MAX Station. Shuttle buses will connect MAX service between Galleria/SW 10th Ave and Goose Hollow MAX Station.
For riders traveling to Gresham or Portland International Airport through Portland City Center, only Blue Line trains will run from Hillsboro or Beaverton to Goose Hollow MAX station. Shuttle buses will connect MAX service between Goose Hollow and Library/SW 9th Ave.
Getting through the closure
MAX Eastbound to Gresham or Portland International Airport through Portland City Center
Board any train and exit at Goose Hollow/SW Jefferson St MAX Station. Board shuttle bus one block east at SW 18th and Goose Hollow (Stop ID 1114). Exit shuttle bus at SW Yamhill and 10th, across from the Central Library, to transfer to eastbound Blue or Red Line trains at Library/SW 9th Ave MAX Station (Stop ID 8333).
Note: All trains on the west side of the disruption will be Blue Line trains to Gresham.
MAX Westbound to Beaverton or Hillsboro through Portland City Center
From a Blue or Red line train exit at Galleria/SW 10th Ave MAX station and board shuttle bus at SW Morrison & 11th Ave (Stop ID 13997). Exit shuttle bus at SW 18th & Goose Hollow MAX Station and board any train at the Goose Hollow MAX Station (Stop ID 10117).
Between Beaverton and Portland City Center
Line 20-Burnside provides alternate service between Sunset Transit Center and Downtown Portland.
Line 58-Canyon Rd provides alternate service between Beaverton Transit Center and Downtown Portland. Extra service added during peak hours.
Between Goose Hollow and Portland City Center
Transfer to these lines at SW Columbia & 18th (Stop ID 10168).
6-Martin Luther King Blvd, travels on SW Columbia and Madison before crossing Hawthorne Bridge.
58-Canyon Rd, travels on SW Columbia and SW Jefferson.
68-Marquam Hill/Collins Circle, travels on SW Columbia and SW Broadway between Goose Hollow and OHSU.
Planning your trip on MAX
- Allow an extra 15-30 minutes for your trip
- Consider adjusting your commute to avoid the crowds during rush hours (7–9 a.m. and 4–6 p.m.)
- Shuttle buses providing service between Goose Hollow and Library, Galleria MAX stations will run about every 5 minutes most of the day
- Don’t worry about showing your fare to shuttle bus operators
- MAX Orange Line will have fewer trains during peak hours. Expect crowding.
- MAX Green and Yellow lines will be running normal service
